What I learnt at Maths class.

This game is called Jet Ski Rescue. It is a fun game and it is also a maths game. I learnt everything on this game and it is my favourite game on Sumdog. Sumdog is a site that you play maths games. And maybe everyone can learn from this game. I have lots and lots of coins on this game because I play and I get all the answers right and then they give me coins. And I hope that everyone will learn by playing Sumdog because it is a fantastic site to go on. And that is what I  learnt on Sumdog.

Tanes Diary.

Day 1:  It is a beautiful sunny day and I was deciding to move to another country!  And I will be leaving Hawaii. Its not because I hate Hawaii! No its not because I hate Hawaii! Its just because I stayed in Hawaii for a long time so I decided to leave Hawaii. So first  I will be going to Samoa! I really hope I reach Samoa safety.  So Bye Bye! Hawaii Here I come Samoa!  I am happy to go to Samoa! But to be honest I think that Hawaii is still my home! But I will still pray that my home will still be the way it is now! because I don't want my house to look rusty and old! and I don't want anything missing from my house.  I am very excited to go on the plane to Samoa! I think once I get to Samoa I might stay there and then I might go to another country. It is hard for me to choose what country should I go to! But I will just think of where I should go to at Samoa!. So off! I go! to Samoa! I really miss my home! but I am already gone!  (crying on the plane)

Day 5: So I had are great time! In Samoa! I dont think so that I will find new friends in Samoa! because I don't know how to speak in Samoa! And maybe everyone I meet will talk in Samoa to me. I wish I know how to speak in Samoan! Just because I am in Samoa!  But I can't because I just can't talk in Samoa! Because I am not are Samoan! (feeling bored)  5 minutes later….. Are  man just came to me! I was very nervous because I don't know what to say! Like I  said that whoever I meet will always talk in Samoan to me! So when the man came to me! He was talking in Samoan! to me! I didnt say anything but I said my name and thats it! After I said my name the man greets me He said Talofa lava and he even said his name but I couldn't Pronounce his name properly!  It was a hard name but I just greeted him  and said my name! I wish that he can be my friend! I asked him If he can be my friend! I was very happy that he is a Samoan! And he can talk in English too! So he began to be my friend! He showed me around samoa! So he was my friend! So It was 7 days past and now I have to! leave Samoa! I decided to go to Cook Island!  I only have 1 friend in Samoa! that I know! and that I had lots of fun with but now I   have to leave! I said bye to my friend and he said bye back to me.

So off I go! leaving Samoa!  Bye! Bye! Samoa! Here I come Cook Island. (In a small voice.)

Day 7: So! I landed on Cook Island! Oh! Its looks alike to Samoa! I miss Samoa!  I just have to walk around and find the hotel! Oh there is the hotel! Wow it looks so amazing! I was just sitting on the couch in the waiting room! 10 minutes later! There was a lady coming up! She said I might be the new Person!

I said yes I am! She greets me! In her language! I just greet her in English and I said my name! She said to me to go and find number! 8! She said that room 8 is my bedroom! And room 8 is my bedroom number! So off! I go finding room 8! 5 minutes later…….  Hurray! I finally! found rm8. It was so quiet and peaceful once I got inside  inside the room! It just looks like my home but its not my home! So I put my stuff down on the floor and then I lied down on her bed! I was relaxing and sleeping on the bed (feeling tired)……. …….2 hours later……. I woke up! I went to the toilet! After I went to the toilet! I was walking back to my room and then I bumped into are man! Sorry! I said! He appolicais to me! I said it ok! He asked me if I want a Coffee? I said yes please! Then he said follow me. I followed him until we found the kitchen……… Finally!! we found the kitchen! he said take a seat so I sat down. He made me are coffee then he made his own coffee. When he finish making his coffee he was talking to me and said have I meet anyone in cook island and do I have any friends? I said no I have no friends and I don't know anyone on cook Island. He ask me if I want to be his friend since I have no friends then I said yes so We were just talking until night time. I said to myself I am Tired!  Night time! I said to myself! (feeling Tired) Finally I have to leave! I was so sad and my friend was sad he said I hope you will come back and visit me! I said maybe some other times I will! Bye Bye! I will miss you! (hugging) BYe BYe! (both crying) And I eventually left!

Day 12:  Finally! It was my last shift! Now I really miss all the countries I went to! Now my last shift is going to New Zealand and I will stay in New Zealand for a while and then I will go back to my real home which is Hawaii! I will stay in New Zealand for a bit a very long long time just like Hawaii but I will think about going back  home to Hawaii! I really miss! Hawaii because I am really use to staying in Hawaii! Now! I really like all the countries I went to! Now this time when I go to New Zealand I can meet the rest of my family! I really want to see my cousins and my mates that came to New Zealand from Hawaii!    

Day 20: Aaaaaa! I yawned feeling tired! Yeah! And I eventually landed on New Zealand! Wow! I said! I think I like New Zealand! And I suddenly came out of the Airplane! Ahh! I said running and crying! just because I sawed my favourite aunt!! I hugged her! She was so proud of me when she looked at  me! I was so excited! when I sawed my aunt! I said hello. I said to my cousin! Thank you for coming and picking me up from the Airport! And I hugged all of my family that came to take me to live with! I said I am really happy to be here with all of yous! today! I said crying (feeling proud). And that was the end of my adventure around the countries.

Apricot Loaf 13/06/2014

Apricot Loaf.

Classification This story is based on apricot loaf. Every Saturday my big sister Tiana and I go to our nans house to clean up. My nans house is so huge. Nans huge house keeps us hours cleaning up. Nan makes her famous apricot Loafs for us to eat. As soon as Tiana and I finish cleaning up we ate our apricot loaf it was so tasty.

Description One saturday before we left for nans, Mum said that nan was feeling sick. Mums said we  need to be very quiet. Mum also told us there will be no apricot loaf this week.  Stink!! said Tiana. I couldn't imagine doing the cleaning without smelling nans apricot loaf. Tiana was hoping that that mum was wrong and nan was waiting in the kitchen making the apricot loaf. But Tiana was wrong nan was resting in her room quietly. Nans voice was so quiet and I could tell that nan is trying not to look sick.

Tiana felt bad that she'd even thought about nan making the loaf and tiana decided that I'd clean twice as hard as usual.

Tiana flung herself down on the sofa and turned on the tv. Tiana said if nans not going to make us apricot loaf then why should I clean up her house that its no fair said Tiana. I finish the dusting and starting with the  vacuuming but  tiana did nothing. Can you do that somewhere else said tiana I can't hear the tv. Just then mom came in. Doesn't Tiana use to do the vacuuming said mum. Its not fair said tiana why should we do the cleaning for nothing. Mum didn't say anything but she gave tiana her disappointed look. On the way mum stopped at the bakery and gave me 5 dollars to buy me anything I wanted. Mum also told me to not share with tiana. ITS NOT FAIR SAID TIANA!!! I picked up the biggest cake I could find.

When we got back home I sat down in the kitchen eating my cake I finished eating my crumbs  in the brown bag. Few seconds i finished eating my cake. In a minute Tiana said again IT IS NOT FAIR !!!! And then Tiana slammed the door and went into her room. The cake was ok but not as nans apricot loaf.

In the holidays

In the holidays last day of school I had to spend time on otara with my aunty. I had to spend 5 days with my aunty.  I had lots of fun at my aunty in otara I always love going there because I love playing with the dog there so I loved going to my aunt's house. Finally! It was my last day with my aunt. My aunt bought me new things just because it will be my birthday soon and because I wont be spending time with my aunt on my birthday .  Soon it was time for me to go home my moms cousin had to take me home so I went and that was my day with my aunt in otara. Soon I got home! Hurray!!!! I shouted I am  home Hurray!! when I went inside my house my mum said we have to go to by some food for dinner so off we went. I went with my mum , sisters and brothers but  my dad was at work. We bought chicken nibbles and pizza for us kids and my mum and dad had fish , meat , some pizza , Kari and some Taro.

And that is what we had for dinner and that was a fun day spending time with my family at home. Yeah!! It was 3 days past my dad went work and my mum , sisters , brothers and I went on the bus to Otahuhu we bought new things for school and we had to buy some food for my dad so he can come from work and enjoy eating and that was a busy day. I really Like spending time with my family.

Structure of a Tooth. 6/06/2014

Today I was learning about Structure of a Tooth.

Enamel: The hard outer layer of the crown. Enamel is the hardest substance in the body.

Dentine: Not as hard as enamel, forms the bulk of the tooth and can be sensitive if the protection of the enamel is lost.

Pulp:Soft tissue containing the blood and nerve supply to the tooth. The pulp extends from the crown to the tip of the root.

Cementum: The layer of bone-like tissue covering the root. It is not as hard as enamel.

Structures around the tooth

Periodontal ligament:  Made up of thousands of fibres which fasten the cementum to the bony socket. These fibres anchor the tooth to the jaw bone and act as shock absorbers for the tooth which is subjected to heavy forces during chewing.

Gingivae (gums): Soft tissue that immediately surrounds the teeth and bone. It protects the bone and the roots of the teeth and provides an easily lubricated surface.

Bone: Provides a socket to surround and support the roots of the teeth.

Nerves and blood supply: Each tooth and periodontal ligament has a nerve supply and the teeth are sensitive to a wide variety of stimuli. The blood supply is necessary to maintain the vitality of the tooth.

Nerve / Pulp / Root Canal:

The nerve chamber and root canals house the pulp, or nerve tissues that keep a tooth alive. Teeth have blood flow to and from them and are living. Trauma or decay that has injured or infected the nerve of the tooth can cause the tooth to die. If these infections are not treated in a timely manner it could result in the loss of the tooth and spread of infection.

Crown:

The crown of a tooth is the portion that extends above the gum lines. The crown ends at the area where enamel tapers off, just along the edge of the margin of the gums. The chewing surface of the crowns in posterior teeth has deep grooves, pits and fissures to aid in chewing and grinding of food.

Neck: The narrowed part of a tooth between the crown and the root.

Cycle Safety.  

Thursday May 2014 Room 9 had fun! These people from Cycle Safety came to teach us how to ride a bike on the road properly and use a bike how it is supposed to be used.  There were only 2 People that came to teach us and they were only 1 girl and 1 boy and their names were James (the boy) and  Ruth (the girl).  They Teach us many kind of different things like how to ride are bike straight and smoothly and how to ride a bike safely when you a on the road and when you are going downhill and uphill. It was amazing I really loved riding bikes. When I first went on the bike it was so smoothly and fast but it didn't make me fall over and get hurt. I really enjoyed it. And I hope I have a bike to ride everyday and everytime.

Today I have been playing Easter games. This picture shows that I have been making an Easter Egg basket.  I have been taking Screenshots of my Easter eggs that I made by myself.  I really enjoyed playing the Easter games. I can not wait until Easter because I love Easter and because Easter is my favourite holiday of all. Today I have been making lots of Easter eggs because it is nearly Easter and Easter is on Friday. 
I really hope Easter is everyones favourite because to me Easter is special. 
Last but not least I hope that everyone enjoy Easter on Friday.

Dear Teachers and Year 13 Sport leadership.

Thank you for letting Glen Innes School come to visit St Kents. I couldn't wait to get started when I came out of the bus to St Kents. When we came out of the bus I was very happy and I was excited I just couldn't wait to get out of the bus and get started.  After we came out of the bus we had to go with one of the Students and his name was Jazire we played Soccer and Hockey.

First we played Soccer Last we played Hockey. Jazire was so so kind. When we were playing soccer I already wanted to swim but the little children had to swim first. But I mostly had fun when we were playing hockey. Finally it was our time to swim we got changed in the changing rooms then we came out and swim when we got inside the swimming pool it was warm.

Secondly when I got in the pool there were music playing. I was very very excited to get in the pool. The pool was a bit deep for me but I still had fun and I still swimed. Few minutes it was time to get out of the pool we went and  got changed in the changing rooms and then we came out and take a sausage each because we were running out of bread because some of us came out late. My friends and I had less time in the pools because we took long to get changed and to put our shoes on. But I still had fun when we were swimming even though we had less time I was still happy and I still had fun.

Last I would like to say Thank you for letting Glen Innes School come and have fun with yous. Thank you for giving us Ice blocks every time we come to visit. And  Thank you for letting Glen Innes School swim in your guys swimming pool and having fun in the swimming pool. Last but not least Thank you for making sausage sizzles and cold drinks for us it was nice of yous doing this very special thing to us we were very happy coming to visit St Kents. I really loved going St Kents because every person at St Kents were very kind and the Teachers were very kind too. Last Thank you for giving us certificates. To me the Certificate is very special to me and it will remind me of going St kents. And I hope Glen Innes School will still visits St Kents College again because it is a quiet place and a exciting place to visit every time.

Get to know me.

Hi I am a girl , I am 9  years old.  My name is Mele.  I live in the Beautiful suberb of Glen Innes , in Auckland, New Zealand.  I go to the lovely  school in our area called Glen Innes School. I am proud of my green and black uniform and wear it daily to school.

I have black eyes, and black  hair.  Sometimes I colour my hair a little bit brown.   

The things I like doing at school are painting , playing on my netbook  ,  playing on the playground ,   and swimming. Going swimming everyday is so cool.   I also love writing and updating my blog every week. It is cool to see so many people from all over the world reading my writing.

Like all the students in my class, I like food.  I enjoy eating Noodles , Chicken , Wendy's , Chicken and Chips , and Mcdonalds , but my favourite is KFC.

I have many friends at school too.  In school we get together to play on the monkey bars , tree. I love

playing with my friend Alyssa , Petuana and Alisi.  Sometime we get together after school to have fun around.

Glen Innes is a wonderful place to be in.
